We are hiring a dynamic team of STEAM Instructors for our summer programs at our 8 premier locations in DC, MD, PA, and VA. Handwork Studio instructors deeply desire to bring the joy of learning through teaching hands-on skills rooted in creativity and focused on fun.
This job is fulfilling. You will help instill confidence and curiosity in young minds! You will work with a team of extraordinarily creative people.
You do not need to be an expert. Very often, we are willing to train the right person on our methods. We have a fully defined curriculum and training.
Generally, instructors are expected to be at camp from 8:30 am - 4 pm, Monday through Friday. On Mondays, instructors are expected to arrive earlier to go through the week's agenda.
A curriculum will be provided for all instructors. Each day will have a mix of instructional time and creative free time, plus lunch and snack breaks. Depending on the weather, outdoor time may be scheduled into the day.
Instructors stay in the same Studio (or classroom) for the duration of the summer. The Studio runs different programs each week, but around a similar theme or skill. For example, the age range served may differ or the studio may focus on a different project from week to week. Again, all curriculum is provided for each week.
Handwork instructors are expected to be present for the entire duration of their program.
See here for each program location's dates and expected daily hours.
Virtual Training: May 26th, June 2nd, and June 9th, 6:30-8:30 p.m.
