Simply put, it's learning by making. We offer 38+ programs grounded in hands-on learning, a blend of action and collaboration that leads to higher knowledge. Besides making new friends, campers quickly begin to discover their true capabilities.
Those day one jitters soon melt away as campers dive into their projects. We’ve even got a name for this process: The 5cs. Imagine your kid’s face glowing as they tell you all about the thrill of designing the perfect racetrack or exploring character development and plot progression as they hone the art of creative writing and illustration.
Not to mention the pride you feel witnessing your own child overcome their worries and doubts in a safe, supervised environment.
Boosting Confidence
Picture this: the star of the show (your child) enters the stage wearing a wide-hooped gown as the audience (their new friends) oohs and aahs in delight.

Mario Kart Racetrack Design: It's amazing what kids can accomplish when they drop the controller and pick up a pencil! Campers explore 2D and 3D constructing, cause-and-effect design, and other fundamentals. Then, they get to show off the racetracks that Mario and Luigi wish they could drive!
Kingdoms & Legends: Forget 2023! We’re back in 1323…before smartphones and computers existed. Kids let their imaginations run wild as they conceptualize, construct, and evaluate how to best build kingdoms and medieval castles that are fit for the grandest wizards, mythical creatures, and more!
Fashion Bootcamp: Calling all fashionistas! Whether your child dreams of becoming the next Vera Wang or just wants to indulge their passion for fashion, they will learn all about clothing development then design their very own collection. All skill levels are welcome.
Cultivating creativity
Summer adventure camps offer a wonderful platform for kids to use their minds and hands to build masterpieces. Our screentime-free environment promotes learning and collaborating with others without unnecessary distractions.
At our NEW Haverford College camp, an especially popular program is Robotics, Coding & Creativity. Campers will learn everything from investigating the program's theme to learning to code and program their robot.
Engaging both sides of their brain will help campers become critical thinkers and creative problem-solvers. Not to mention, this unique way of teaching is crucial for the classroom!
While they’re exploring their creative sides doing everything from channeling self-expression by creating fashion accessories to crafting a handy wooden toolbox, they’re also building crucial lifelong skills without even realizing it.

- Fostering their social skills in a diverse setting

Fostering Independence

At our Haverford camp, for example, they can unleash their inner artist by embroidering a cuddly puppy, crafting a unique light-up wearable, and more in the Mixed Media program. It’s a fun way to instill a love of hands-on learning across many different mediums.
In the Art and Lit class, budding artists grow their love of storytelling. This does wonders for instilling confidence for years to come. And you’ll watch your camper’s face glow with pride when their very own published book arrives in the mail!
