Summer Camp Main Line

Summer Isn't Over Yet!

This summer has been one to remember as we have worked with over 2,800 campers in an upwards of 40 locations. The creatitity and inspiration shared in our camp locations was nothing short of amazing. We are always blown away by the young crafters that join us to share in the art of creating handcrafted treasures.

As we start to talk more and more about the Fall and Back-to-School time, we wanted to remind you that we still have camps running in some locations for the weeks of August 24th and 31st.

We are running programs in Narberth until September 4th and in Rosemont College and Montclair State University through the 28th.

As other camps are shutting down, we're continuing with our creative program to be a resource to parents like you looking for unique day camp programming for your children. Your child can learn to hand sew, knit, machine sew, needle felt and more!

We'd love to hear from you if you are interested in registering with us. You can reach Miss Ana at 610-660-9600 or send us a message.

Spring Classes Have Sprung | The Handwork Studio

Posted by Megan Collier on Thu, Apr 05, 2012 @ 08:00 AM

Now that spring camp is over in Pittsburgh, DC, and Narberth it’s time for spring classes!

Here in DC we will be doing our classes once again at Potomac School in McLean, VA. We’ve been here since the fall teaching Potomac students all about machine and hand sewing, knitting, crafting and more!

Students Knitting

Each season brings new projects - like the spiders during Halloween or the bathrobes for the winter, but it also brings new student s as well! It’s been such a pleasure to work with the staff, students, and families of Potomac since September. We were able to use Mrs. Rothman’s art room, met some of the fun kids in after-care, and bonded with the auxiliary program staff (hi Mimsy!). And what’s great about that relationship is that we get to continue it into the summer! We will be working with Mimsy and her staff at Potomac from June 18th to July 6th and then hopping over to Madeira from July 9th to August 17th allowing us to create stronger relationships and even more amazing projects!

Other schools that I’ve been fortunate enough to work with areBullis in Potomac, MD and Sidwell on their DC and Bethesda campuses. We participated in a camp fair hosted by Bullis (what a beautiful campus!) and had the pleasure of returning to Sidwell for workshops, winter camp, and just last week spring break camp. I was so happy to see campers that I had last summer return again for winter and spring camp – allowing us to catch up throughout the school year! We are racking up the projects together and I can’t wait to get to work on the new and interesting things that we are rolling out for summer 2012!!

Make sure you stop by our Summer Camp page to learn about our programs.  You can register online or by contacting us!

Have you joined us for classes, workshops or camp before?  We'd love to hear what you or your child's favorite project was. Simply post them in the comments below!

Happy Spring,

Miss Amanda
