Lead Counselor

Job Description

Objective: Represent The Handwork Studio in a positive manner with parents, campers, and within the community.  To carry out daily lesson plans and other duties that is assigned by Site Director while maintaining the mission and goals of The Handwork Studio.

 

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Staffing-

* Supervises Junior Counselors, CIT's, and volunteer summer camp staff

* Provide feedback to Site Directors on staff evaluations at the completion of the counselor’s first week and final week

* To report all staffing related issues as they arise or as needed to the Site Director

 

Representation

* Must represent the studio in an organized and professional manner

* Must wear appropriate clothing and The Handwork Studio apron during camp hours

* Will never engage in illegal or questionable activities during your term of employment

* Will maintain a professional representation at all times when in engaging in social media

 

* Staff Trainings/Orientation-

* Attend all mandatory staff training on June 1st, 2nd, 3rd

*  Successfully complete all assigned curriculum project examples as of June 1st

* Assist in summer camp orientation program

 

Programming-

* Follow The Handwork Studio’s curriculum

* Ensure that their camp location is operating appropriately (“top notch” staff, curriculum implementation, adhering to The Handwork Studio values/mission, etc.)

*

Supplies-

* Report supply needs to the Site Director

* Ensure that all materials are being utilized effectively at their site (limited waste, no double orders, etc.)

 

Camp Registration

* Communicates to the Site Director any changes and additions to enrollment

 

Safety

*Follow safety protocols and training

 

Other

*All other duties as assigned
