The Handwork Studio's summer camp program is a unique, creative, fun and educational way for your child to learn the tradition of needle arts and machine sewing in a positive and nurturing environment.
Located in 10 states, you can find The Handwork Studio Summer Camp Program in some of the country's finest independent schools and universities. Integrated into these prestigious summer camp programs, you will be sure to find our quality programs and professional staff are focused on your child.
Our staff is comprised of professional artists, instructors and skilled teachers, dedicated to making each student feel special. Our teaching philosophy is one that focuses on the students’ accomplishments. We will never criticize the student's work but praise his or her efforts.

Picture your child in the care of energetic and imaginative counselors knitting, crocheting, and weaving the day away. At Handwork Day Camp, you’ll find campers sharing stories and laughs while working on a wide array of unique projects from snuggly creatures and flannel pajama shorts to wall pendants and needle-felted sushi. Our goal is to teach useful skills in a space where campers are free to express themselves and are enveloped in creativity and fun. Discover the fun in The Handwork Studio’s newest program! Glamorize Your Doll is designed for campers who have the desire to create trendy clothes and accessories for their very own 18" Doll. Fun and skilled Handwork Studio counselors will teach machine and hand-sewing, embroidery, and other embellishing techniques to allow campers to craft their own unique creations for their stuffed friends. Just bring your own doll and imagination!
Join us this summer for our brand new Sew-Tech Camp! This new program invites campers to tinker with technology, science, and fibers to develop interactive creations.
Our innovative curriculum blends art and science so that each child will be able to create smart accessories, interactive toys, and light up wearables. Projects will involve the use of LED lights, sound, motors, sewing machines, thread, fabric and more! The possibilities are endless-- whether you are a boy or girl, scientist or artist, this program is designed to boost the appetite of the both left and right brain thinker. All supplies are included, no experience necessary, and projects will change from week to week so that your child is sure to love continuing to work in Sew Tech Camp's Craft Lab!
Whether you are a budding fashionista interested in apparel or a creative camper who loves crafts, enjoy an introduction to the wonderful world of machine sewing! Under the direction of The Handwork Studio team, choose from more than 14 Simplicity Creative Group patterns and bolts of tempting fabrics to bring style and ease to your creations. There are more than enough options to keep you coming back week after week. Family and friends are invited to the Fashion Show on the last day of each session.
From sketching and draping to sewing and modeling, watch your fashion dreams come to life in this 3-week, award-winning program! Aspiring designers
will immerse themselves in the fashion world by learning how to execute a collection. A field trip to a local fabric shop will further teach and
inspire our budding fashionistas*. As an exciting culmination of the program, campers will have the opportunity to produce a runway show for their
family and friends and model their designs. Our talented instructors will patiently guide and mentor each designer through this exciting and challenging process.
*No prior machine sewing experience necessary.

The Handwork Studio we take no greater joy than to see campers grow from curious creative students to passionate driven young adults. Our brand new CIT Leadership program has been designed to take past Handwork Studio campers between the ages of 14-16 that possess a spark to begin a journey to understand what it takes to inspire the next generation of needle artists. This is an opportunity to learn leadership skills, build resume experience, and advance on crafting techniques alongside our professional staff.
This highly selective 3 week program will only have a few spots in Narberth, PA, Chestnut Hill, PA and Rosemont, PA. To become a part of this experience all interested applicants must fill out our application and go through our interviewing process.
